When It's Not Live
As I think about authenticity which has come up in conversations many times recently as well as on this episode of The FlowCast, a thought on a particular type on inauthenticity comes to mind from something I recently saw.
We recognize that the ubiquity of webinars these days may mean that something is pre-recorded.
People are going to still sign up for your thing if what you're talking about aligns with what they want or need to learn.
Don't say it's live when it's not live.
Even if you are looking to create an air of exclusivity with a webinar event, don’t announce an event as being live when it in fact won’t be live.
Somebody is going to catch you on it, whether they are meeting you in-person when your “live” event is taking place or notice the repetition of previously seen content.
This can only serve to negatively impact your integrity in the eyes of those people catching you in a false claim.
